Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide resource room and special education support services to high school students in accordance with IEP goals and New York State regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver differentiated, team-taught instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards and student learning needs.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials, projects, assignments, and assessments to support students with disabilities across academic settings.
  • Support students in developing executive functioning, organization, study skills, self-advocacy, and graduation readiness skills.
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and assistive technologies to ensure meaningful participation and access to curriculum.
  • Create a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes engagement, independence, and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, counselors, and support staff to ensure student success in inclusive settings.
  • Monitor and document student progress through data collection, formative assessments, and IEP goal tracking.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families, case managers, and school personnel to support student achievement.
